What is Youth on Course?

Born in 2006 out of the Northern California Golf Association, Youth on Course began as the NCGA Foundation as a way to increase the accessibility and affordability of golf for Northern California youth. Within five years, it became apparent that there was a huge demand for the program outside of Northern California. The NCGA Foundation was re-imagined as a nationwide initiative to grow the game, and the name Youth on Course was born to establish a national identity. Youth on Course operates as a separate 501(c)(3) that partners with allied golf associations across the country, including the Utah Golf Association.

 

How does it work?

In Utah, the Utah Golf Foundation (UGF), the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the Utah Golf Association, funds Youth on Course (YOC) Utah. Participating golf courses offer rounds to youth ages 6 to 18 for $5 or less for nine holes, and the Utah Golf Foundation reimburses the courses the difference between their normal junior rate and their Youth on Course rate. The Utah Golf Foundation fundraises throughout the year for YOC Utah. Give to Youth on Course Utah HERE. 

 

How do I sign up?

Each Youth on Course Utah member must join or renew at the Youth on Course Utah club through the Utah Golf Association for $20. Joining through the Youth on Course Utah club also gives the junior a Utah Golf Association membership and all of the benefits that come along with it, including a USGA Handicap Index.

  • Once you have gone through the checkout process, you will receive a confirmation email with more information, and your UGA membership card will be mailed to you.

  • You will receive a separate email from Youth on Course containing information about your membership.

  • You can print a temporary Youth on Course Membership Card HERE.

  • It may take 1-3 days for your registration to appear in the Youth on Course database.

Get the most out of your Utah Golf Association Membership

  • Download the USGA GHIN Mobile App on your smartphone to post scores and view your score history.

  • If you are a new member, once you have posted three 18-hole rounds or six 9-hole rounds, your handicap index will be established on the 1st or 15th of the current month.

  • If you have been a member before, your GHIN number and handicap index will be reinstated immediately.

Youth on Course will not subsidize green fees if the green fees in question are determined to be for an event, tournament, or organized golf camp.

Members WILL NOT receive YOC rates for high school golf team practices, tournaments, duels, and leagues
as well as anything else related to high school golf teams.
