UGF Hosts Annual Fundraising Tournament at Willow Creek CC

SANDY, UTAH -- The Utah Golf Foundation hosted its annual UGF Tournament supporting Veterans on Course (VOC) and Youth on Course Utah (YOC) at Willow Creek Country Club on Monday, October 7th. More than 70 players from around the U.S. gathered at Willow Creek to play an 18-hole scramble and enjoy a delicious lunch, all in support of the UGF's VOC and YOC Utah initiatives.

Waste Management of Utah, a proud supporter of the Utah Golf Foundation, was kind enough to bring one of their brand new trucks to showcase on the No. 1 tee. A few Waste Management employees educated the tournament field about the importance of recycling and what WM of Utah is doing for the state, especially the city of Sandy.

Despite a chilly morning and frost delay, the fall weather could not have been better. The scramble players finished the round in just over four hours, and some incredible scores were posted.

In the end, the Topgolf Salt Lake City foursome of Amy Mayberry, Eric Jensen, Mark Monsen, and Tyler Monsen claimed the overall win at 15-under-par 57!

Amy Mayberry had an exceptional day, also clinching the longest drive contest on No. 1. Stew Walz won the closest-to-the-hole contest on No. 2, Tim Parry earned the W on closest-to No. 7, Craig Wilson won No. 11, and Veterans on Course participant Spencer Bolingbroke sealed the deal on No. 17 to win the final closest-to-the-hole contest.

On behalf of the Utah Golf Foundation Board of Directors and staff, thank you to Willow Creek Country Club for hosting the event, to our corporate sponsors for supporting Veterans on Course and Youth on Course Utah, and to our 2019 UGF Tournament participants for your attendance. The UGF truly appreciates your support.
